If you are expecting something like the previous guides YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. I got it with that in mind and was very sorry to have wasted the money. Don’t waste your time and money looking for anything useful in this “guide”.

I haven’t found the difference between the “2nd Edition,” and the original, I suspect that it is a 2nd Printing. It is an excelent addition to a gamer’s library, as WoW is a massive game, and u can’t remember everything you encounter, or need to find to do a “Quest.” I have been playing for several years, and still find myself referring to this atlas.

It’s always nice to have the latest guide book, and that’s why I bought this after installing the Lich King. Enough of the original game area had changed with this latest expansion that I thought it was time for a new map book. I was disappointed to see that not even the new harbor area of Stormwind was shown in the book. Additions like that in the game were the primary reason for my buying. I would hesitate to upgrade any of my books in the future, just because they were updated editions, until I have talked with other people to see whether there is really any new additions to the old content.
This book is awesome… and has just what it advertises. (I don’t understand folks complaining that a book dosen’t have things it never said it did.) Itss a wonderful map book with good details on basic things such as travel paths, vendors, trainers, herbs, mining etc. And its a large hardbound glossy book for only twenty bucks. I’ll definitely be buying the other two. I’m extremely happy with it.
u get more info and easier access from Quest Helper than this book delivers and QH is free. I was also disappointed in the fact that the area covered is limited to such a small region of the game. For the price it looks mice, but is useless
I can’t remember reading so much whining and nit-pic for the most inconsequential and lame reasons. One guy in here is complaining that many maps are printed on 2 pages and span across the binding and complains that they can’t be “cut out”.
Please tell me. What kind of rational, thinking person purchases a beautiful hardcover reference book to cut it up??
Many of the complaints I’m reading are that this book could be “so much better”.
The bottom line is . . . if you play World of Warcraft you know this game is absolutely huge. It is breathtaking and often staggering in it’s expanse and enormity. This game will always be changing . . . maps change, creatures change, anything can be rehashed and redeveloped in the game at any time.
This is a reference book.
Doctors don’t have just one book. Teachers, lawyers, students and professional people who require a reference book do not have just one . . . why? Things change. Life changes. We need many books.
This is just one, very excellent, very thorough and very well-designed and constructed reference book for the game of World of Warcraft. I have this one and “Dungeon Companion” and yes . . . I want, and will purchase more to have on-hand for reading and making references to while I journey through the game.
This is a tremendous reference book and I highly recommend it. I also recommend, that for the scope of this game . . . you will find you need more than one guide at your fingertips . . . and indeed . . . this is an invaluable one to have!
If you’re into the game . . . buy it!
For the love of Pete! The release date for this book is nearly a year passed due and I get (yet again) another approval for order delay from Amazon. Boy, Brady sure has lost a ton of money from the sale of this book. From the forums & blogs, it appears that MANY players now feel the book is obsolete, especially since they have already reached level 80 & have fully explored Northrend. There is no reason for such a long delay in this book’s release, it’s not like there is a lot of fine detailing that goes into one of these atlases & there hasn’t been any really major Northrend area updates (except maybe Uladar). Even then it shouldn’t matter that much since they released the BC atlas without Shadowmoon Valley & Quel’Danas. This is really, really sad & not good business practices.
I love the atlas, its a great tool. When it came it was very well made. If you are thinking about purchasing this do it, its a great product. Everyone else is just upset it took so long to ship.
With digging you would be able to find the information on the internet but this is made for you, and its on nice paper, and nicely bound. The book even smelled fresh when it came. I mean I opened it and it woof.. freshly processed paper. My teenage brother loves it too, maybe I’ll get him one.
I have loved all their atlas’s. The book had all the basic info you look up all the time and its in one spot without searching the web and I love the detailed city maps. People seem to complain that its not something it was never intended to be. Sure you can get a lot of the into all over the web. I prefer to pull out my atlas’s to quickly and concisely find what I need. The travel routes alone were worth it to me! Large hardbound color book fro $13? Its awesome!

Brady needs to get thier act together. Accepting pre-orders in October for a product that they don’t ship until the end of July is totally unacceptable. Surely someone at Brady realizes 10 months delay is reputation damaging…
I had sort of hoped that the extensive delays were due to Brady wanting to include maps from the Ulduuar raiding instance but that hope proved misplaced.
The Atlas itself is well made, easy to read and navigate, just like all of Brady’s previous WoW atlases, BUT the continual delays in production and shipping have considerably cheapened the product and decreased its rating. If Brady had shipped within a reasonable amount of time this rating would be a 4-5 star instead of the 1-2 star rating I elected to give it.
Come on Brady… get your act together!!!
Anything Brady could potentially place into this book is already available, free of charge, from a plethora of wikis and websites which are continually updated to ensure their accuracy as Blizzard updates the content. Going all the way back to Everquest, static atlases for MMOs have been a terrible waste of time and I don’t forsee this being any different.
Once Burning Crusades opens up it’s going to be a bit out of date since you won’t have maps of the new cities or zones, but the rest of the world is in there. I use the Atlas about once a week or so when I’m heading into a totally new zone. It’s very handy to know where you’re going and what kind of vendors, flight points, and other important information is there. The atlas is the greatest guide I own to help me with my travels. It also lets me have the map open and the game going at the same time so I can quit reference them without changing windows on the computers.
This book has saved me many times when I’ve been lost. The maps are fairly detailed and include a quick reference to familiarize you with the region and towns. It’s also great for finding trainers, flight masters, and vendors. The index is very large and contains some additional information for finding what you seek. It’s a very good quality book, great for newbies as well as more advanced gamers.
The Atlas is great for finding your way around WOW and for finding just about any other item such as Resources, Skill Trainers, Professional Trainers and just about any other type of trainer or stock item you wish to find along with a specific person you may wish to find. The Detailed maps also gives you a relief picture of the land so you don’t go falling off the end of the earth. The hard bond copy will help to keep the Atlas from wearing out since you will be using it quite often while adventuring in the lands of World of Warcraft.
Of the 3 WoW guides I’ve utilized, this Atlas is the most used by far. Not only do the maps remove questions about locations (and with maps u don’t feel you have to yell something like, “Where the hell is Un’Goro Crater?!?” in General chat) and which of them have what vendors and trainers, the lists in the back of the atlas provide locations for important NPCs, such as that final Master Blacksmith trainer, etc.
I use this guide every time I play. The frustration you’ll avoid as a less experienced player will be priceless. So get it now.
This is a nice reference for WoW. It has a map of the various Flight Paths and Ship routes. Great to refer to when opening up new territory in the game. Nice tool for the World of Warcraft gamer. I use it all the time.
Currently I am in Iraq and ordered this book to learn about the WoW expansion since I am unable to play it yet. I would say I am very well informed and by having read this it will keep me from having to ask so many question of other players in game. There are a few typos but they are easy to overlook. The layout of the book is very pleasing to the eye and I really can’t think of anything they left out. I feel I am ready to dive in to Wrath with a very good idea of the changes.
If you are expecting something like the previous guides YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. I got it with that in mind and was very sorry to have wasted the money. Don’t waste your time and money looking for anything useful in this “guide”.
